EMERGENCY POLICY
We have a joint venture between the Escanaba Veterinary Clinic and the Thompson Veterinary Clinic to provide afterhours emergency services for pets who receive veterinary care at either of our facilities or tourist passing through the area. Call us at 906-341-2813 option 1 after hours for emergency and you will be directed to the facilities on call service. More Info
If you think your pet may have ingested a potentially poisonous substance, call 800-213-6680. A consultation fee may apply. Take note of the case number to pass that along to our doctors.
VCPR (Veterinarian-Client-Patient Relationship)
The VCPR is the basis for interaction among veterinarians, their clients, and their patients and is critical to the health of animals. Please be advised it is a requirement by the state in order to diagnose a patient or to prescribe drugs.
PRESCRIPTION POLICY
We require a 24 HOURS ADVANCE NOTICE for prescription refills. This is to help with accuracy and availability of medications as well as allows time for our veterinarians to approved a prescription prior to a refill bring dispensed.
*Note although preventatives such as flea & tick or heartworm do not require a 24 hour notice we are required to have a valid VCPR with a client within 1 year to prescribe the preventative. In addition to a VCPR heartworm preventative either requires a heartworm test within 1 year or a signed document stating you understand the risks of not performing this test.
THOMPSON VET CLINIC ONLINE PHARMACY
Our online pharmacy offers medications and over the counter products straight from the manufacturers to your door. By using our website there is not need to request a written prescription these requests come straight to our office to be approve! PHARMACY
APP
Our mobile app is called Pet Health Network (cell phone required). You can use it to request an appointment, view your pet’s vaccination history and prescription details, request prescription refills, and access information about our practice. This is extremely helpful if you travel with your pet. APP INFO
NO SHOW POLICY
We, at Thompson Veterinary Clinic understand that sometimes you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. However, when you do not call-in advance to cancel your appointment you may be preventing another pet from getting much needed treatment. We ask for 24 hour notice to avoid the late fee. If you are a no client and no show or if you are an existing client and have 3 no-shows in 1 year you will be terminated as a Thompson Veterinary Clinic Client. PAY BY LINK
We offer a Pay By link option via text or email. If you are picking up medication or would like it mailed pay by link allows us to send you a link for payment. No more giving your card over the phone!
