Your pet will require general anesthesia for the scheduled procedure. General anesthesia is usually a safe procedure; however, there can be unanticipated complications due to medical conditions or anesthetic drug sensitivities that can not be found on physical exam.
Analgesia: All surgeries are painful procedures and pain can negatively affect your pets’ healing and recovery. Analgesics (pain relievers) will be administered at the time of surgery with additional pain relievers dispensed to be given orally at home. Cost ranges from $17- $40 depending on the size of your pet.
***Antibiotics and/or flea control are sometimes needed and are addressed on a case by case basis. These items will be added to your invoice at an additional cost if needed.***
Please arrive at the clinic at your designated time provided by the clinic which is between 8:10am - 8:20am - Call to verify drop off time if you are unsure. Once you arrive, if possible, please leave your pet in your vehicle and check in at the front reception area to fill out any necessary paperwork. Once directed, bring your pet in the clinic and wait in our lobby for one of our technicians to call you in a room to go over your pet's procedure.
**Please make sure to contact us ahead of time if you have any questions or special instructions prior to the procedure date**
No food after 8pm the night before - water is ok until your pet comes in. (If you have an animal other than a dog or cat please contact the clinic for special instructions)
Pick up times vary between 2:00pm and 5:00pm depending on how the patient wakes. We ask that you contact us at approximately 2:00 p.m, so we can discuss how your pet's procedure went and when they can be discharged (Patients being hospitalized overnight for intensive procedures and declaws do not apply to this).
